Are you prepared for retirement?

Are you prepared for retirement?

Do you know the ins and outs of saving for retirement, at what age you might give up full-time work, and how long you can expect to live once you reach your golden years? The facts are interesting and possibly eye-opening!

1. Do you know the average age for retirement in the US? 65? 70? Somewhere in between? No, currently the average age of retirement is 63. So, think about it, you could live for another 30 plus years after you retire.

2. How many people do you think there are in the country that are 100 years old? There can’t be that many, right? Wrong! It is estimated that there are more than 70,000 centenarians in the US today.

3. One out of every four 65-year-olds today will live past the age of 90. Even more surprising, perhaps, one out of every 10 will live past 95.

4. You may decide to retire earlier than you first planned. Nearly half of retirees leave the workforce earlier than planned. Often health problems, disability, downsizing, or sheer and utter exhaustion are to blame.

5. Are you contributing towards your 401(k)? because one-fifth of workers are not contributing to their 401(k) and are therefore missing out on the matching funds offered by their employer. Don’t turn your back on ‘free’ money!

Don’t leave retirement to chance. Plan and save effectively for retirement. If you have any concerns, questions, or just want to explore the possibility of creating a retirement account and setting financial goals for the future we are here to help!
